LONDRINA THEATER

2007

A large Square and a Box of Light.
The project basically consists of these two elements. The square is first and foremost an urban public space, but it also lends itself to preparing the perspective of the theater building, by nature monumental, self-referential, qualifying, a new landmark of the city of Londrina, at the same time monolithic and immaterial due to its geometry and texture.

The project develops linearly along an axis parallel to the northern border of the land, reserving a service road next to this border. The development of the program follows this axis according to the dimensions of the elements of the program and offering its areas of public access (lobby, foyers and audiences) to the square and to Rua Attílio Octávio Bizato, clearly dedicated to the main accesses. This design allows perfect communicability between the boxes and their access, loading and unloading infrastructure and functionality, allowing simultaneity and reversibility of the entire rack and back-rack sector.
Pedestrian and automobile access is also possible through the projected street (B), aiming at its future viability.
The two Italian Theater rooms define a main volume, having between them a volume on 4 floors containing the functional areas of the complex: Technical Areas, Dressing Rooms, Didactic Rooms and Administrative Sector. The "Black Box" constitutes an annexed volume without, however, detaching itself from the functional axis that connects all the rooms. The library is located on the level of the lobby attached to the black box, and is equipped with an exclusive sunken garden.
From the square, the project draws two levels of public circulation: the first at an elevation of 555.00 for general access to the complex and another at an elevation of 558.00 for the Foyer spaces.
The main volume is defined as a translucent envelope, designed from an elementary prismatic form, which receives geometric subtractions in order to follow the natural volumetry of the elements of the program and provide an internal space of monumental scale. The volume derived from this action fits the scale necessary for an architectural ensemble of this dimension.
Two levels of garage, one basement and one external provide the required parking spaces, established practically at their natural levels in order to access the lobby at level and allow practically zero earth movement.
Concert Halls
The rooms were designed to comfortably house the public requested by the notice. They are equipped with all the necessary equipment and cabins for any type of show. The audiences have inclinations that allow perfect visibility from any point. The rooms have optimal height and widths and received floor, ceiling and wall treatments in order to meet the classic concepts of acoustics in terms of control and isolation, and conditions of good acoustics in terms of silence, good sound distribution, adequate sound level and satisfactory reverberation time.
The "Black Box" has a specific design that aims to ensure its flexibility of use.
Construction
Building to be built predominantly in concrete and masonry structure, with the exception of the roof and main enclosure and the upper structures of the concert halls in steel structure
The main roof is composed of steel trusses and closure of thermoacoustic insulating materials of controlled translucency. The roof is partially supported by the concrete structure of the rooms, maintaining its independence from them. Frames and glass were used with great economy, only the access façade (South) is endowed with this feature in larger.
The project also reserves a list of materials of great strength, durability and economy.
The landscaping elements aim at a large square without obstacles.
